Sparks

Somewhere along the way, friction between what is and what might be sparks.

Acrid smoke obscures the path ahead as the present combusts in a pyre, signaling pregnant destiny’s labor has begun.

A possibility, conceived by the wedding of imagination and circumstance is birthed as a paving stone.

Clarity is restored by the attendant wind of change, revealing a new way lies ahead.

Inching forward, present rubs against future creating friction not long from its next spark.
